Love Wins

My "Love Wins" by Rob Bell has finally arrived.

I have read so much (mainly) negative publicity surrounding this book and, never having been one to give an opinion of a movie/ book that I haven't read, I am excited to really get into it for myself.

I am expecting to love it, I am expecting all those negative comments made by people before reading it, to be pointless and empty.

If you've read it, and have anything you would like to comment on, please feel free to do so - I'm all for conversation!

Peace... see you again after the back page!

  1. Can I be the first to borrow it when you're finished?

  4. for me one of the most disturbing things about us X-tians is that I feel we have somehow lost the plot in terms of a personal faith, sincere meaningful dialogue, and basic thinking skills. could it be that we have lost the ability to think for ourselves and enter into dialogue? have we lost all sense of community where we 'excommunicate' first, ask questions much later then think at the end (usually only long after the execution has taken place?) - then we canonize the dead to make us feel better. and then there's that slippery issue of grace, we love it when it's towards us personally but it seemingly registers not at all when it might need to be extended to others. and in terms of forgiveness ... what if someone is incorrect? how do we shoot so accurately without our pistol even leaving the holster? ready, ... fire, ... aim!! yet we happily and openly call ourselves ambassadors of Christ?
why O' why Lord Jesus, did you not come today??

  5. Alalohwhydee - 'Today' is not over in some parts of the world... ;)

Seriously though, I can see that you have put much thought and heart into your response and I agree with you ...

There is so much conversation just in what you have had to say!
