The Long Week

My Man had to go away on business this week.

I have been mentally preparing for this for almost a month since we are seldom apart and have never been apart this long.

I find myself in bed at the sad time of 18h00 today having decided that I don't feel like food and was just going to turn in early.

While browsing I found this and it just sums how I feel today....
Tomorrow is a NEW Day and am heading into the city to have lunch with a friend and do some shopping.
I plan to buy lots of his favourite food.

This has to have been the longest week ever and it's only Wednesday!

*  I am absolutely perfectly fine, I am not withering away - I am painting the walls ferociously and achieving very little. However, I hear the soccer game is starting, so may haul my lazy butt out of bed for a watch and a little glass of wine.

(Think I have a packet of sweets stashed somewhere too!)

  1. :-) Thank goodness for the internet huh? I am not sure I would know what to do either if I was alone for a week in a new country....I may well take up wine drinking and soccer watching too! :-))

    1. Sjoe, yes to the internet! Turned out it was a soccer practice, so nothing to yell or clap about! :) SO no wine either!

  2. Go Lisa, it's just SUCH a big adjustment! I would be going crackers - I think you should take up cross-stitch! Stacey cross-stitched her way across south-east Asia and came home with some amazing stuff. She got a photo of Mike & I, scanned it, created a cross-stitch pattern out of it and then spent nine months cross-stitching it. When she arrived home, she had it framed as a gift for our 27th wedding anniversary! :-) Tomorrow when you are out shopping, look for cross -stitch stuff!

    1. It is an adjustment for sure! Wow, Stacey must be really good, what a lovely thing for you and Mike to have as well! I have never done cross-stitch, but knowing me, I would probably be horribly frustrated if I can't finish it in a week (that may even be pushing it!). However, you are definitely onto something here, I think I will look for a puzzle. I LOVE puzzles and can get lost in time doing them.
      Thank you! xx

  4. Yuck!
Horrible to know you're all alone there and missing your man.
    Don't worry: I know you're ok but still . . .
    Hugs, my poppet

    1. Tomorrow I see there are not one but TWO cricket games on as far as I can tell. PAK vs Zim (early) and Eng vs Aus (late) and I have lunch out tomorrow - so jam packed day!

      I am OK! :)

  6. I know that feeling. DH and I have worked together now for nearly 18 years...so we are always together and dread being apart.
